This is a pivotal role within one of the region’s most prestigious real estate law practices, managing some of the most sophisticated property transactions in the Texas market.
Our client is a dominant force in both Texas and national legal landscapes, renowned for handling complex commercial real estate transactions for a roster of blue-chip clients, including prominent real estate developers, private equity funds, institutional investors, and operators. They are seeking a sharp, solutions-oriented real estate transaction lawyer to join their leadership team and immediately spearhead complex, high-value deals. In this role, you will be the primary legal driver on sophisticated acquisitions,development projects, and major leasing programs, serving as a critical business partner to client executives.
The Role
This is a high-impact position designed for an experienced real estate lawyer ready to manage complex transactional real estate matters autonomously. You will bridge the gap between deep legal expertise and commercial property execution, serving as a primary point of contact for sophisticated clients and driving deals to efficient, successful conclusions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Complex Transactions: Structure, draft, negotiate, and close high-value real estate acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, and financing arrangements across multiple asset classes (retail, office, multi-family,industrial, and mixed-use development).
- Property Development Lifecycle: Counsel clients through the entire development process, including zoning and land use regulations, construction contracts, operational agreements, and regulatory compliance.
- Institutional Leasing Programs: Lead comprehensive, multi-market leasing strategies for sophisticated institutional landlordclients across office, retail, and industrial portfolios.
- Strategic Client Partnership: Act as a crucial business and legal advisor to client C-Suite executives, private equity partners, and acquisition teams, aligning real estate legal advice with broader business objectives.
- Mentor and Manage: Supervise junior real estate associates and paralegals on transaction execution, due diligence management, and title and survey review.
What We’re Looking For:
- Texas Licensed: Must be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Years of Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of dedicated, sophisticated real estate transactional experience(acquisitions, development, and joint ventures) within a robust law firm practice group or as in-house counsel.
- Premier Credentials: Outstanding academic credentials (J.D.) from a top-tier law school and proven experience with high-stakes transactional work.
- Asset Class Versatility: Proven track record handling diverse property types (multi-family, retail, and office are essential; industrial or hospitality experience is a plus).
- Commercial Mindset: Solutions-oriented approach; you understand that legal risk must be balanced with business velocity.
